ANDY EREKSON is a story artist, director, writer, and illustrator living in Los Angeles, California.
After graduating from BYU in Provo, Utah, with a BFA in illustration, he worked at LAIKA Entertainment in Portland, Oregon as a visual development artist on Jack and Ben and a short called The Mouse That Soared.
In 2009 he moved with his family to Los Angeles to work as a story artist at Sony Pictures Animation where he worked on Hotel Transylvania, Smurfs, Smurfs 2, and The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol.
After three years at Sony, he started at Dreamworks Animation where he has worked in both television and on feature animated films such as Captain Underpants, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Abominable, Trollhunters, Kung Fu Panda 4, The Wild Robot, and was head of story on The Boss Baby: Family Business. He also wrote and directed the animated shorts Marooned and Precious Templeton: A Pony Tale.
After eleven plus years at DreamWorks, he took a new position as a story artist at Warner Bros. Pictures Animation where he is working on Margie Claus.
When he's not making the pictures, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, grilling, watching movies, and vacuuming his car.
